A homemade peach simple syrup that adds a burst of summer flavor to drinks and desserts.

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe peaches, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar

Instructions

  1. Combine fresh peaches with water and sugar in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely.
  3. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil.
  4. Reduce the heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the peaches soften.
  5. Strain the syrup into a jar or bottle, discarding the peach solids.
  6. Store in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.

Notes

For a lower sugar option, substitutes like honey or agave nectar can be used.
